Drawing inspiration from the natural world, occasionally a piece will present itself for experimental assembly. Whether on a mountain hike, a meditation by the shore or woodland wandering a remnant may capture my eye’s attention. A moth’s wing or a floating feather are perfect examples of nature’s transience and tend to contain their own remaining energetic beauty within our own existence. My creature pieces are simply small remnants of a creature’s existence and no animal or insect is harmed in the Creature Collection items but rather preserved, if only temporarily in each design and in a sense lives on perhaps to provide a moment of beauty or a small lesson.
Since essentially all the remnants used within these designs are items I have found myself, and due to the very nature of obtaining findings for creature pieces they are minimal in number and sometimes unable to be replicated.
