The wild, weird and wonderful are no strangers to Mother Nature and her inspiration has deep roots in many of my pieces. Now that the Creature pieces have been introduced, let’s delve a bit into some interesting woodland findings and earthy endeavors with mossy lichen, leaves, and limbs. The first image collage directly below reveals a miniature bottle of the tiniest pinecones I’ve come across, found in the NC Mountains. Beside the pinecone bottle is a Willow bangle of natural Weeping Willow viney branches which were twisted into shape and dried then rustic coppery crystals woven through. The glossy leaf earrings are genuine leaves preserved in lacquer with cherry wooden accents. In the bottom right corner here is a Crimson and Clover bottle locket necklace of dried red rose petals and natural dried clover leaves.
I have been collecting incredible specimens of lichen and moss lately, which have been abundant in my area this season and especially so after rainstorms. After drying several samples for my collection I selected a few to experiment with into jewelry pieces.
